WECONNECT INTERNATIONAL CEO JOINS EISENHOWER FELLOWSHIPS BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Feb. 26, 2015 – Washington

Elizabeth A. Vazquez, CEO and Co-Founder of WEConnect International, is now serving on the Eisenhower Fellowships Board of Trustees to help identify innovative leaders from all professions, women and men of notable achievement, who have the potential to do even more.  Executive Committee Members include General Colin L. Powell, James W. Hovey, and Christine Todd Whitman (https://www.efworld.org/about-us/trustees).

Edgar Cullman, Eisenhower Fellowships trustee and Chair of the Nominating Committee, said during the recent announcement, “Elizabeth brings extensive global experience to our Board and clearly has a passion for the work Eisenhower Fellowships does and will be a strong asset to the organization.”

Eisenhower Fellowships exist to inspire leaders around the world to challenge themselves, to think beyond their current scope, to engage others, including outside of their current networks, and to leverage their own talents to better the world around them.

According to Vazquez, “I am deeply committed to the mission of Eisenhower Fellowships to find people who can envisage, as Dwight Eisenhower did, a more prosperous, just and peaceful world, and have the passion to pursue specific activities with real impact to achieve those goals.  There are many men and women entrepreneurs who are building solutions to the world’s greatest challenges and I look forward to helping to identify and develop those leaders.”

WEConnect International (www.WEConnectInternational.org) helps women-owned businesses succeed in global value chains.  It identifies, educates, registers, and certifies women’s business enterprises based outside of the U.S. that are at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by one or more women, and then connects them with qualified buyers.
