Today, the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato’ Sri Nancy Shukri reaffirmed the importance of women-owned businesses in the Malaysian economy. Minister Shukri was speaking at the Procter & Gamble (P&G) Women Entrepreneurs Academy (WEA) Graduation Ceremony in Kuala Lumpur. P&G has successfully concluded the 2023 edition of its flagship P&G WEA, in collaboration with WEConnect International.
WEConnect International is a global organization that connects women-owned businesses to global opportunities with corporate and government buyers. The graduation ceremony was designed to provide a platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses and network with potential buyers.
At the ceremony, Minister Shukri spoke on the importance of creating an inclusive business environment for women-owned businesses. She highlighted the numerous opportunities that women-owned businesses can provide to the Malaysian economy, including job creation and new markets. Minister Shukri also noted the need to ensure that women-owned businesses have access to the resources and connections they need to succeed.
The P&G WEA ceremony is an important event that provides women entrepreneurs with the opportunity to demonstrate their products and services, and to network with global buyers. It also serves as a platform for corporate buyers to find and engage with women-owned businesses.
The Minister urged corporate buyers to actively seek out and work with women-owned businesses. She also encouraged women business owners to continue to build their businesses and to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the WEConnect International and P&G programs.
Today’s P&G WEA Graduation Ceremony was a successful event that demonstrated the importance of women-owned businesses in the Malaysian economy.
