(October 21, 2016) WEConnect International in South Africa welcomes new Advisory Council Chair Jacoba Schutte (left). She is the Products & Services Procurement Lead in Africa for EY. New Advisory Council member Nadine Schlebusch (right), the HR Director of Ingersoll Rand South Africa, will now serve as the Advisory Council’s Vice Chair.
At the most recent Council meeting, Jacoba said, “I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with such a strong Advisory Council. We all believe in WEConnect International and can see the difference it can make in our lives as procurement leads when we can easily find certified women-owned businesses. Part of my aim as Chair will be to bring more corporates to the Council and have more face-to-face sessions with the women’s business enterprises — WBEs.”
Vice Chair Nadine started her career in the South African Air Force with further experience in the private sector ranging from engineering, production and manufacturing to commercial sales and services. She is extensively involved with BBBEE for the business and responsible for strategy and implementation of all BBBEE initiatives.
Acknowledging the outgoing chair, Intel’s Deaneesha Govender, Executive Director of WEConnect International in South Africa Jean Chawapiwa said, “Our thanks to Deaneesha who has provided strong leadership, support through ongoing strengthening of WEConnect International in South Africa. We are delighted that she will be staying on the Council in her new role at the Intel UK Office, and that she will continue to be one of our biggest supporters.”
The WEConnect International in South Africa team looks forward to working with Jacoba, and Nadine, as they lead the Advisory Council with strong representation from ExxonMobil, EY, Ingersoll Rand, Accenture, Intel, IBM, Protea/Marriott, Absa/Barclays, Monsanto and now Dell.
