WEConnect International, in partnership with WEConnect India INT Association and the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), implemented the third iteration of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Development Program (WEDP 3.0), a signature program of Walmart India. The third edition of the program consisted of two cohorts of twenty women business owners each, with in-person trainings located in Bengaluru and New Delhi. It also included virtual trainings for additional women entrepreneurs who were not part of the in-person trainings.

The graduation ceremony for both cohorts took place on 29th January 2019 in New Delhi-NCR at the Lalit Hotel.

A product and service fair was organized so that each woman entrepreneur could display her products and explain her services. Each woman was able to relate the story behind her venture, and to spend quality time with visiting dignitaries and corporate representatives.

The formal Graduation ceremony began with the WEDP Film on the journey of WEDP 3.0 with the address by Ms. Uma Reddy, Director and Promoter, WEConnect India INT Association, on her own entrepreneurial journey and progress.

Remarks were delivered by Mr. Krish Iyer, President and CEO, Walmart India and Shri Ram Mohan Mishra, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner, MSME.

Each of the WOBs received their certificate along with a book, “Made in America” by Sam Walton (found of Walmart), containing a personalized message from Mr. Krish Iyer.

Family members of each WOB attended the ceremony and were asked to share words of encouragement and reflections on the journey of each of the women. Other Dignitaries and Corporate Members who attended the ceremony are: Shreemanti Chowdhury, Senior Purchasing Manager, Brand Business Services at Procter & Gamble; Poornima Kamath, Economic Affairs, US Embassy; and Anurag Awasthi, Centre of Excellence, Product Manager, Government e-Marketplace.
