TORONTO, ON, June 19, 2020 – WEConnect International announces the launch of its inaugural WBE Advisory Council in Canada. “We intentionally selected women leaders from diverse backgrounds and regions to represent the voice of our women-owned businesses across the country,” said Stephanie Fontaine, Country Director. “Our Council launches at a pivotal time and coincides with a digital transformation at WEConnect International.”
The certified women business enterprises representatives forming the members of the WBE Advisory Council are Brigitte Lespérance, Les extensions Rollup Inc.; Bonnie Lester, Higher Ground Collective; Neasa Maguire, Flip Productions (2013) Ltd.; Noora Sharrab, Sitti Social Enterprise; and Tanya Walker, Walker Law Professional Corporation.
The members, representing various markets across Canada, had this to share when asked why they wanted to serve as members of this Council:
“I was interested in the opportunity to shape and contribute to a strong women-owned business network.” – Noora
“The ability to use my experience, knowledge and creativity in strategy, innovation and branding to help WEConnect International meet its objectives and ensure the sustainable prosperity of its community and women in business.” – Bonnie
“I’m interested in representing WBEs from Western Canada.” – Neasa
“Providing my perspective on obtaining Fortune 500 as clients despite COVID-19.” – Tanya
“The pan-Canadian nature of the network is a dimension that appeals to me because I will be in contact with people with different visions and realities, even if we live in the same country, in order to define and achieve something new together.” – Brigitte
Working with WEConnect International team members, the WBE Advisory Council will provide a vital WBE perspective, ensure diverse and inclusive voices are represented in our network, and build an engaged, connected, and supportive WBE community. The Council meets virtually on a monthly basis.
