We have a fabulous range of speakers lined up for the 16th November including our keynote speaker, Petra Wetzel, Founder and Managing Director of WEST Brewery in Glasgow. Petra will share her story of business success running a German style beer hall and brewery which distributes WEST beers to over 1,000 venues in the UK and sends international shipments as far afield as Hong Kong and Russia. Petra will also talk about her support of other women-owned businesses through WEST Women, her £100,000 investment fund designed to help female food and drinks operators.
Nick Bramley from World Wide Pictures, one of our certified women-owned businesses, will present ‘Top Tips to Develop Effective, Collaborative Corporate Relationships & Secure the Contract’ which will focus on the challenges small businesses face is in getting the balance right between the will and desire to target corporate clients (and the riches that their contracts could deliver) and the need to follow what can appear to be challenging engagement protocols that vary from one corporate environment to another.
IBM will be presenting an agile innovation knowledge workshops and Monsanto will chair a panel Q&A discussion with representatives from a number of our corporate members. We’ll also hear from Joanna Chin, an experienced entrepreneur who will share the story of how the health advertising agency founded on her dining room table went on to become the most awarded in the world. Joanna will offer key takeaways based on her 25-years of leading a high-performing team. And Helen Jamieson, Managing Director of Jaluch, a certified women-owned business will share her thoughts on the value that women bring to both business and society, looking at whether modern business can be truly sustainable without tapping into the value of women.

Throughout the day, Suzi Mitchell from The Headshot Guy, will be offering free professional headshots and, as always, there will be plenty of opportunity to network and connect with representatives from WEConnect International’s corporate members and with other women-owned businesses. The event will close with a networking drinks reception offering more connection building at the end of the day!
