WEConnect International and PhilWEN Forge Partnership to Elevate Women-Owned Businesses in the Philippines

Manila, Philippines, March 6, 2025 – In a groundbreaking move to strengthen economic opportunities for women entrepreneurs in the Phillipines, WEConnect International and the Philippine Women’s Economic Network, Inc. (PhilWEN) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This partnership underscores a shared commitment to fostering the growth and success of womenowned businesses in the Philippines through capacity-building initiatives, strategic connections, and expanded access to global markets.

The collaboration brings together PhilWEN, a coalition representing women leaders and entrepreneurs across various industries, and WEConnect International, a global nonprofit that links women-owned enterprises with multinational corporate buyers.

Under the terms of the agreement, both organizations will work to:

  • Raise the profile of women-owned businesses in the Philippines, equipping them with tools and resources for success.
  • Provide education and support to women entrepreneurs through networking events, business training, and access to procurement opportunities.
  • Facilitate local and global connections between Filipino women-owned businesses and multinational corporations seeking diverse suppliers.

“This partnership is a pivotal step toward empowering Filipino women in business,” said Pacita U. Juan, Trustee of PhilWEN. “By leveraging the expertise and global reach of WEConnect International, we can unlock more opportunities for women entrepreneurs to thrive in competitive markets.”

Elizabeth A. Vazquez, CEO & Co-Founder of WEConnect International, echoed this sentiment, stating: “Women business owners in the Philippines are dynamic and innovative, yet they often face barriers in accessing high-value markets. This partnership with PhilWEN aligns with our mission to break down these barriers and connect women-led businesses to billions of dollars in new business opportunities.”

The partnership agreement, which remains in effect until October 31, 2027, highlights both organizations’ dedication to women-owned businesses as drivers of economic growth. It also ensures continued advocacy for engaging women-owned businesses in global supply chains and equipping business owners with the knowledge and networks to scale their enterprises.

As part of this commitment, WEConnect International and PhilWEN will collaborate on conferences, training programs, and networking events to amplify the impact of women entrepreneurs in the country.
