In December 2013, Amanda McKeith began Winnow Chocolates to explore her love of hand-made items and interest in food products. Amazed by the scope of flavor combinations that are possible with chocolate, she developed a passion for the traditional French technique of hand-tempering on marble, one which is rarely used by chocolate makers these days.
As she developed her business, Ms.McKeith noticed a gap in the Australian wedding favour market and custom-made corporate gifts. She saw an opportunity there for her unique products that are created using a small-batch method of production. Since then, Winnow has expanded significantly each year and now operates in a number of different areas, including weddings, corporate gifts, events, online sales, wholesale and chocolate workshops.
In 2017, corporate client Marriott Hotel Sydney Harbour encouraged Winnow to certify with WEConnect International and the chocolatier has subsequently been engaged by another major global corporation. Flush with optimism, Ms. McKeith believes there is even more potential for expansion both in Australia and internationally.
In 2017, Amanda’s company was nominated for the WEConnect International Award for Youngest Up and Coming Business.
