Vanessa Mumba

Vanessa Mumba is the Market Lead for South Africa and the southern African region. In this role, Vanessa works with women-owned businesses and member buyers in South Africa through various events and programs geared towards the overall inclusion of women-owned businesses into corporate supply chains.  

Vanessa has worked with the WEConnect International global team since 2018, providing project management for large-scale events such as annual conferences and member-sponsored programs for women-owned businesses. Vanessa also works closely with the certification team on increasing certifications and registrations in the southern African region.  

Vanessa has previously worked for a private consulting firm, providing market research and daily news clippings for a mining company, Talbot Group, based in Mozambique. She has also worked on projects with the Southern African Node of the Millennium Project (SAMPNode) assisting with project management for their Global Work Tech Scenarios South Africa Conference in 2018.  

Vanessa graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor’s of Law. While a student, Vanessa gained part-time experience as a candidate attorney at the Wits Law Clinic in the Family Law Unit.  

At home, Vanessa loves spending time with her husband and son, traveling to unique unexpected places in South Africa.
