Stephanie Fontaine joined the WEConnect International team in September 2019, and currently serves as the Regional Director for Canada and the US. In this role, Stephanie provides leadership for the Canadian and American markets, working alongside local and global teams, several community partners as well as the Corporate Member Advisory Council to ensure that market activities and programs help women-owned businesses leverage certification and corporate supply chains as tools for growth.
Prior to joining the team, Stephanie worked as an independent consultant, specializing in supplier diversity and business development. She worked closely with corporations, not-for-profit organizations and government to develop processes to increase procurement opportunities and visibility for diverse suppliers. As a well-known leader in the supplier diversity community, Stephanie is regularly involved in industry and educational events around inclusive sourcing, certification and gender equality.
Stephanie started her career in food service operations and went on to project management and procurement positions before finding fulfillment in helping small and diverse suppliers navigate the complexities of large supply chains. As part of a growing commitment for more inclusive procurement practices, Stephanie designed and managed the supplier diversity program for a multinational corporation. Combining this practical background with her passion to empower women entrepreneurs, Stephanie went on to assist some of North America’s largest corporations to meet their objective of a more diversified supply chain, and specifically to provide better access to women businesses.
