Claudia Hines joined WEConnect International as our new Accounting Manager on October 10, 2022. She is based in the Washington DC area and reports to Saritha Venumbaka.
Claudia will be responsible for the oversight of financial processes, related policies, and financial statements. She comes in with more than 15 years of experience as an accountant in the not-for-profit industry. Her most recent role was with the American Federation of Teachers where she directed the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, spearheaded the implementation of a new payroll system and assisted in successfully transitioning the organization to remote business transactions during the pandemic. Claudia has also worked in the government sector and public accounting and brings strong experience in the areas of payroll, accounts payable, internal control, implementing policies and procedures, compliance audits, data analysis, and financial reporting.
She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of the District of Columbia. She spends most of her leisure time with family, going to the beach, and reading.
