WECONNECT INTERNATIONAL RECOGNIZED FOR ITS “STELLAR RECORD AS AN OUTSTANDING ADVOCATE IN THE WOMEN’S BUSINESS ENTERPRISE COMMUNITY”

WEConnect International was inducted into the Women’s Business Enterprise Hall of Fame at a ceremony presented by the American Institute of Diversity and Commerce, in Dallas on Tuesday, December 2. The organization was among an impressive list of inductees including Michael Robinson, Program Director of Global Supplier Diversity at IBM and Co-Chair of WEConnect International’s Board of Directors.

The national award honors individuals, companies, and organizations that have demonstrated exemplary leadership and support in the success of women’s business enterprises initiatives. According to the Hall of Fame selection committee, WEConnect International was recognized for its “stellar record as an outstanding advocate in the women’s business enterprise community” and for its “support of — and commitment to — fostering the growth of women’s leadership and accomplishment.”
Other 2014 Hall of Fame inductees included: Tara Abraham, Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Accel, Inc.; Cheryl Snead, President and Chief Executive Officer of Banneker Industries, Inc.; John Young, President and CEO of Energy Future Holdings; Larry Caldwell, Vice President of Purchasing of Business Solutions Group at PepsiCo; Linda Alvarado, President and CEO of Alvarado Construction, Inc.; Michelle Richards, President of the Women’s Business Enterprise Council-Great Lakes; Cindy Chace, Director of Enterprise Accounts, Government Sales, at UPS; Laura Taylor, Vice President of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Operations at Pitney Bowes; and Jerry Martin, Senior Vice President of Global Purchasing at Frito-Lay, Inc.
