SIMONE HART SIBBALD NAMED CHAIR OF TOP TRADE GROUP

By Jay McLeod on 11 Mar 2016

Simone Hart Sibbald, co-founder of family firm Perfect Service Solutions, a WEConnect International women-owned business, has been appointed Chair of a leading trade association.

Ms. Hart Sibbald is only the second woman to head up the Scottish division of the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA), since the organization’s launch in 1904.

She is also the only female Chair of the body which has several divisions throughout the UK. BESA Scotland represents 200 companies involved in the engineering services sector lobbying on a range of issues affecting their businesses and the environment they operate in.

Ms. Hart Sibbald will chair meetings, advocate for Scottish companies and represent their interests at a national level. She said:

“I’m looking forward to my new role – it’s a great privilege and responsibility to be Chair of BESA Scotland. I’m also pleased that a woman’s voice will be given weight in what is very much a male-dominated industry. One of my main aims as chair will be to raise the profile of the engineering services sector. I want to be involved in supporting the development and growth of our members and will do my utmost to be a great advocate for them. I’m particularly keen to raise awareness of the importance of safety and accessibility for operatives in our sector in the buildings where they carry out their services.”

Ms. Hart Sibbald, whose firm provides specialist deep cleaning services and ventilation solutions for a variety of clients, was Vice-Chair of BESA Scotland from 2014-16 after joining the trade body in 2007. The organisation is the main UK trade association for engineering services contractors who install and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration services in buildings.
