FARIDA GIBBS MAKES GLOBAL POWER 100 – WOMEN IN STAFFING LIST

Since 2011, Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) of has compiled a Staffing 100 List, and since 2015, they have compiled lists just for women. This year, Farida Gibbs, owner of the certified women’s business enterprise Gibbs S3, made the International 50 List. SIA describes Farida’s accomplishments:

“A multi-award winner, Gibbs has been consistently recognized for her work and achievements. She was named Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 at the RBS Asian Woman of Achievement Awards; named Business Woman of the Year in 2013 at the British Muslim Asian Awards; and was listed among the Top 30 Most Inspirational Women Entrepreneurs in the City of London in 2015. Gibbs sits on the Mosaic Advisory Board founded by HRH the Prince of Wales.”

SIA also explains the importance of recognizing women in the industry:

“Anecdotal evidence indicates that women dominate the staffing industry, working in branch offices.  But a very small number make it to boardrooms. On average, women comprise only 6% of board seats at the 27 public staffing firms in the US, for example.  The statistics tell their own story. We want to change the narrative to honor those women who are affecting staffing firms and by extension, the world of work. So in 2015, we decided to create a list for women in staffing, introducing the Global Power 100 — Women in Staffing.  Now in its second year, we honor the policymakers, businesspersons, technologists, crusaders, and other industry leaders. But there’s one thing they have in common: A love for promoting and shaping talent.”
