It’s no secret that healthy competition leads to better products and services and a strengthened economy. Entrepreneurs have always been the catalysts for economic growth, and Intel has long been a champion of their efforts. To continue this tradition, Intel provides individuals with the technological skills, literacy and resources they need to help their businesses succeed.

In 2015, Intel’s CEO, Brian Krzanich, shared Intel’s commitments to Diversity, which included spending $1B by the year 2020 with certified diverse suppliers. He further committed to Intel Capital spending $125m with diverse technology suppliers. To help enable this vision, Intel’s CEO made available a diversity and inclusion fund of $300m. This shows Intel’s dedication at all levels within the organization to drive success in Diversity, as well as build an innovative and diverse supply chain reflecting the market and supporting the communities they work in. In the United Kingdom, Intel is driving an initiative in the supply chain and giving individuals the skills to compete in any economy.

Intel, a WEConnect International corporate member, invites you to join them for an afternoon event at their new Internet of Things (IoT) Ignition Lab in Canary Wharf, London. If you’ve heard about the “Internet of Things” but not sure what it means to you, this is the event for you. It is projected that 50 billion devices will be connected by 2020, driving 44ZB of data that can give insights across businesses and everyday life. And we expect to see some of the biggest innovations in IoT come from small businesses. Intel will cover how it approaches IoT, followed by a tour through the IoT Ignition lab, a showcase and collaborative space to help customers build IoT solutions and accelerated into market.

This event is aimed at majority women owned businesses; those that are minimum 51% owned by one or more women, who provide products and services in the following sectors: Marketing, HR, Recruitment, Catering, Training, Advertising, Merchandise, Events, Corporate Services, Logistics, Facilities Management, Legal and Technology.

This event will be led by Anna Cheng (link is external) – UK IoT Ecosystem Sales Manager and Ignition Lab Manager at Intel. Anna possesses an understanding of, and love for, the fast paced technology industry with over 11 years of experience at Intel. The Canary Wharf Ignition Lab is the 10th in its EMEA network, with focus areas in Smart Building, Retail, Transportation and Smart City. Intel would also like attendees to spend time thinking of how they could potentially incorporate IoT into their business models.
