(March 31, 2017) Shelley Zalis, CEO of The Female Quotient, announced Ebru Yildirim as the winner of the Up and Coming Startup award at the inaugural WEConnect International Gala on March 30 in Washington, DC. The Up and Coming Startup Award recognizes the WEConnect International Certified Women’s Business Enterprises we expect to see great things from. Maggie Berry, Executive Director of WEConnect International in Europe, accepted the award on Ebru’s behalf.
Istanbul native Ebru founded Parlonist Translation Workshop in September 2016 and is currently working on her new project ollang.com, an online translation platform. Before starting her journey as an entrepreneur, she worked for Ikea Trading Area South East Europe, Eurotunnel in Paris, and WEConnect International corporate member Accenture in Istanbul. Ebru has a degree in
Translation and Interpretation from Marmara University. She also has her Master’s in Business Administration for Université d’Orléans and a second Master’s in International Human Resources Management from Sorbonne University in France.
Ebru’s WEConnect International certification was facilitated by Country Director Nilay Çelik in 2016. Since January 2013, Nilay Çelik has had lead responsibility for the management, leadership, and development of WEConnect International in Turkey. Her role involves developing corporate support as well as growing and developing the network of women’s business enterprises in Turkey.
