CANADIAN MINISTER OF LABOUR K. KELLIE LEITCH TO ADDRESS REPS FROM MULTINATIONAL CORPORATIONS AND WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESSES

WEConnect International will bring together more than 200 women business owners, corporate representatives, and government officials from around the world to its annual WEConnect International Day conference in Austin, TX on Monday, June 22. Throughout the day, women entrepreneurs from every continent will get tips from corporate supply chain experts and learn more about government efforts to support women’s business enterprises.

“More than 20 corporations will be represented at this year’s conference, providing a tremendous opportunity for suppliers and buyers alike to make new business connections,” said Elizabeth A. Vazquez, CEO and Co-Founder of WEConnect International. “We also have a fantastic line-up of special guests speakers – including The Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women Canada – to inspire a stronger commitment to supplier diversity and inclusion.”

In addition to The Honourable Dr. Leitch, attendees will hear from Kim Azzarelli, Co-Founder of Seneca Women; WEConnect International certified women business owners from 14 different countries; and supplier diversity experts from WEConnect International member corporations Dell, ExxonMobil, EY, IBM, Marriott, P&G, Sodexo, and Walmart, among others.

WEConnect International helps women-owned businesses succeed in global value chains. It identifies, educates, registers, and certifies women’s business enterprises based outside of the U.S. that are at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by one or more women, and then connects them with qualified buyers. WEConnect International Day (www.weconnectinternational.org/wec-wbenc ) is sponsored by ExxonMobil with additional support from Dun & Bradstreet, Monsanto, and Walmart.
