WEConnect International’s Regional Director of Latin America Belisa de las Casas will speak on an expert panel on “Investing in Women: Promoting Social and Economic Empowerment” at the Summit of the White House’s Young Leaders of the America’s Initiative (YLAI) on Thursday, November 10.
President Obama’s YLAI program, which kicked-off in Dallas earlier this month, brought nearly 250 young entrepreneurs and social innovation visionaries from Latin America and the Caribbean to the United States for a four-week fellowship that is geared towards strengthening their capacity to launch and advance their entrepreneurial ideas and effectively contribute to social and economic development in their communities.
The fellows are currently imbedded in start-ups, NGOs and other businesses in 21 different cities across the country. They will convene in Washington from November 9 to 11 for a three-day Summit that will showcase the tools and reveal practices necessary for entrepreneurial success and to catalyze social innovation.
