TORONTO, ON, July 1, 2020 – WEConnect International in Canada is delighted to invite women-owned businesses to apply to participate in a virtual Walmart Supplier Diversity Forum happening online on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. For a second year in a row, women-business owners will have an opportunity to build relationships with buyers from Walmart representing a variety of categories, including: consumer packaged goods, food services, professional services (consulting, training, recruitment etc.), logistics and many more!
This year, the half-day program will include opening remarks from Walmart and WEConnect International leaders, a presentation from CAMH, who has partnered with Walmart, titled “Focus on Mental Health,” as well as opportunities for participants to meet virtually with buyer category managers.
Participation is free for successful applicants. This valuable business connection opportunity aligns with Walmart Canada’s commitment to supporting WEConnect International, as well as procurement from women-owned businesses.
Participants from last year’s Walmart Supplier Diversity Forum rated the Forum highly; “I enjoyed learning about how Walmart will differentiate and advertise women-owned businesses they are doing business with” and “I appreciated the access I had to the actual buyers at Walmart for my products, as well as how intimate the conversations were.”
The Walmart Supplier Diversity Forum application is open to majority (51%) women-owned businesses based in Canada. As a pre-requisite, the business must be either certified or registered with WEConnect International. All Supplier Diversity Forum participants will be asked to submit a one-page capability statement in advance of the event.
Apply here today. The application deadline is August 19, 2020.
