(September 20, 2017) WEConnect International is thrilled to announce that Andrew Butler, the Associate Director of Supplier Citizenship & Innovation at Proctor and Gamble, has recently joined the Board of Directors. P&G is excited to play an integral role in shaping the vision and direction of global supplier diversity and inclusion with the support of WEConnect International’s members and leaders.
Andrew’s previous positions include Purchase Group Manager in Global External Supply Solutions and Corporate Supplier Diversity Manager. He has an MBA from Xavier University and a B.S. in Economics from Carnegie Mellon University.
According to Andrew, a key focus at P&G is accelerating their supplier diversity efforts with women-owned businesses around the globe. “A majority of our sales come from outside the United States, and we know that over 70% of purchase decisions are made by women. This is why we’re proud to partner with WEConnect International, the leading organization for the development, certification, and advocacy of women-owned businesses outside the United States.”
P&G joined WEConnect International in 2014, and have been driving supplier diversity in the United States since 1976, based in the belief that when their supply network reflects the diversity of their consumers, employees, and stakeholders, their business grows and their community thrives. Some of their accomplishment in supplier diversity include achieving membership with the Billion Dollar Roundtable and reaching over $2 billion in spend with diverse suppliers over the past decade.
