WALMART’S ANNE MARIE KEHOE ON WOMEN’S ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Congratulations to Anne Marie Kehoe, Vice President of Toys at Walmart, on winning the 2016 Women In Toys Retailer of the Year Award!

Kehoe recently sat down for an interview with Toy Book to discuss the award and Walmart’s commitment from sourcing from women-owned businesses, the Women Owned logo, and Walmart’s Women’s Economic Empowerment Initiative:

“As a company, we don’t believe that we have to choose between being a successful business and a responsible one. We have a model for making a difference that works. And when we combine the Walmart model with women’s empowerment, we have an incredible opportunity to make a difference on the big challenges facing our world.”

WEConnect International corporate member Walmart sources from women-owned businesses around the world. A selection of women-owned products can be found on their website including TeachMy educational toys.

TeachMy is a certified women’s business enterprise based in Toronto, Canada. In 2014, it was named WEConnect International in Canada’s Women’s Business Enterprise of the Year. Read more about owner Christy Cook’s path to success.
