THINKBIG 2018 IMPACTED 150 WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS, WITH AN ESTIMATED 1,500+ CONNECTIONS BETWEEN WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS AND MEMBER BUYERS

The summit included corporate panel discussions, sharing of success stories by successful women entrepreneurs, an awards presentation and matchmaking where WEConnect International Certified WBEs had an opportunity for face-to-face roundtable meetings with participating member buyers.

A panel discussion on “Capacity Building of Women Entrepreneurs: the role played by large corporations as mentors and facilitators” leveraged a tri-sector approach by connecting women entrepreneurs, companies, and government on the same platform. This panel consisted of representatives from Goldman Sachs, Procter & Gamble, and WEHub, along with women entrepreneurs who have been part of the programs supported by these entities.

The panel discussion started with representatives from the corporations discussing their various programs and how each year they are improvising on these programs to impart better skills and training to women entrepreneurs. The women entrepreneurs on the panel were part of Walmart’s WEDP 1.0 program, P&G’s WBEP program and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Program and shared how such programs have helped in learning different aspects of business management, understanding the needs of the corporations, learning about the procurement policies of various corporations and creating connections not just with corporate companies, but also with women-owned businesses to increase cross-network business.

WEConnect International is grateful to Intel Corporation, Walmart, Wells Fargo, IBM, EY, Accenture, Goldman Sachs, Super Seva, Tally and WEHub for their sponsorship of the event. For opportunities to sponsor in 2019, please reach out to Edith Cecchini (ECecchini@weconnectinternational.org)
