Thrive on your authentic selves. I work to make such a diverse world a reality.
Setsu Suzuki is the Japan Project Director for WEConnect International. She is also a founder and CEO of Hunext Inc., a training company specializing in Goal-Oriented Language Acquisition and consulting for the globalization of small- to medium-sized companies since 2004. She brings a unique combination of entrepreneurial and consulting experience to serve the Multinational Non-government Organization.
In Japan, where gender disparities remain entrenched in the business world, numerous challenges lie ahead to develop ‘Supplier Diversity and Inclusion,’ the new organizational concept in procurement activities. To accelerate the movement, she has developed training for women business owners and is also actively connecting national and multinational corporations to local women suppliers through networking and the launch of the WOB baseline survey in 2020 Summer.
Setsu has 15 years of Toastmaster leadership experience as an area and division director during which two new clubs were established. In that role, she also learned considerable public speaking and facilitation skills to inspire people for their professional growth.
In 2016, she began to transition from onsite training to a virtual platform, which has allowed her to broaden her reach nationally and expand her business to encompass remote organizing and online community building.
Setsu has traveled to more than 40 countries for both business and pleasure. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Nanzan University and she also studied at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, as an exchange student. She speaks Japanese, English, Korean and basic Chinese and Spanish.
