WEConnect International corporate member releases its inaugural “Index of Women Entrepreneurs” today, stressing the crucial importance of “supporting conditions” from women entrepreneurs to thrive around the globe. The report found the following ten countries to have the strongest conditions and opportunities for women entrepreneurs:

  1. New Zealand
  2. Canada
  3. United States
  4. Sweden
  5. Singapore
  6. Belgium
  7. Australia
  8. Philippines
  9. United Kingdom
  10. Thailand

Of those countries listed, WEConnect International supports women business owners on the ground in New Zealand, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. WEConnect International also works on the ground in Greater China to connect women entrepreneurs to global opportunities, and although China did not make the top list of countries with strongest conditions and opportunities for women entrepreneurs, Mastercard found that China has the 8th highest percentage of female business owners.
