Parlonist is a professional translation agency that provides translation and interpretation services to companies in the medical, legal, marketing, and sales fields. Located in Istanbul, Turkey and established in 2014, it became a certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) through WEConnect International in September 2016.
Ebru Yıldırım, CEO of Parlonist, was already familiar with WEConnect International from her previous work at Accenture, one of WEConnect International’s corporate members. She pursued certification for Parlonist because of the incredible benefits it offers, including a network of women-owned businesses, education, mentoring opportunities, and the ability to attend events to meet leaders of international companies, such as BKM and Marriott. According to Ebru, “It’s a dream to meet those inspiring people and get their advice and continue your way with refreshed thoughts.”
Because of its certification and the connections facilitated by WEConnect International, Parlonist is working with Marriott International, The Interbank Card Center(BKM), Turkey Relocation Management Services, and Affani Group. Connections came from attending events and from following leads from WEConnect International. “I’ve never seen such an effective network of people,” Ebru said. “You really witness that actions speak louder than words.”
Parlonist is able to differentiate itself by making a commitment to ensuring its client’s message stays consistent across languages, taking cultural and societal aspects into consideration. They work with expert translators in their fields; for example, doctors translate for pharmaceutical clients, software engineers translate software into different languages, and lawyers translate legal documents. Parlonist also works very closely with its clients to understand the aim of the translation, so the correct tone is achieved.
Parlonist’s WEConnect International certification has led to name recognition worldwide, and to an increased recruitment of translators to meet demands. Future plans include digitalization, such as the launch of a project called www.ollang.com to enable online translation services. This will allow clients to upload their documents via an app or the webpage and choose a translator. This program is currently in beta and accepting translation requests.
Parlonist is determined to “disrupt the translation sector in the world” and its WEConnnect International certification has allowed it to make connections and grow their business.Back to the Success Stories
