Gladys Amaefule is the CEO of Bellpoint Energy Limited, a WEConnect International Certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) based in Nigeria.
When did you establish your company and what does it do?
Bellpoint Energy Limited was established in June of 2003 but formally commenced operations in 2011. We are a functionally trading company focused acutely on playing in the complete end-to-end chain of the oil and gas sphere. Our business includes the supply of petroleum products in varying quantities. Over the years, we enjoyed a robust trading performance in product supplies to various customers across Nigeria.
Why did you decide to certify your women-owned business through WEConnect International?
I joined the WEConnect International network for several different reasons: to network with other female entrepreneurs, improve and expand on new business opportunities, promote the growth of my business, and to impact other women where possible.
Since my business was previously registered with ExxonMobil, a WEConnect International Global Corporate Member, I was initially introduced via their local team in Nigeria. They recommended certification as a way to network with a larger community of female entrepreneurs.
What value has the WEConnect International Network Provided?
After becoming certified through WEConnect International, my business opportunities with ExxonMobil has actually improved! I am now being invited to participate in more RFPs and have received several contracts. Being a WEConnect International Certified WBE, on top of being a registered vendor through ExxonMobil, greatly improved my standing and relationship with the corporation.
What future plans do you have for your business?
My goal is for Bellpoint to become one of the foremost company owned by a woman. I hope to continue to partner with local and international companies to provide world-class service.
