WEConnect International, in partnership with Procter & Gamble, launched the 2020 edition of the Singapore Women Entrepreneurs Development Program (WEDP) on Wednesday, April 15th. WEDP 2020 is taking place despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with the learning sessions conducted online in compliance with regulations to minimize physical meetings and the shared commitment to ensure the safety of staff and participants.
The online kick-off ceremony was graced by Dr. Lei Hsien-Hsien, the recently appointed and first female Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. The 2020 cohort was welcomed with this video that encapsulated the successes P&G’s supplier diversity initiative worldwide, as well as last year’s Singapore programme.
Across the next few weeks, the 23 women entrepreneurs from the 2020 cohort will undergo a 10-module curriculum aimed at providing training to these women business owners to further develop their capabilities and help them grow their businesses. The training will be conducted by P&G experts and external partners, including Enterprise Singapore. The modules will cover a wide breadth of business development topics such as growth strategies, business operations, company branding, sales, communications & leadership skills, human resources and supplier relationship management.
