MTB PG Lagos Oct2016c(November 1, 2016) Hosted by the Enterprise Development Center in collaboration with Cherie Blair Foundation,  P&G and WEConnect International welcomed 135 women-owned businesses to a Meet the Buyer event where they connected with P&G representatives and learned about P&G’s procurement processes and opportunities. The event was held on October 17, 2016 in Lagos, Nigeria.


Ladipo cropped(October 28, 2016) The Guardian will host a live Twitter chat on how we can support the economic empowerment of women in Nigeria on Thursday, November. Among those participating on the expert panel is Executive Director of WEConnect International in Nigeria Shade Ladipo. Panelists will address a number of topics and questions:

"In Nigeria in particular, the need to accelerate opportunities for women is more important than ever. Though it is Africa’s largest economy, the country slipped into recession in August for the first time in a decade. It is one of the most unequal countries in the world: more than 80 million people (64% of the population) are living below the poverty line.

WEConnect International certified women's business enterprise FemiHandbags is among the nominees in the "Female Accessory Designer" category. You can vote for FemiHandbags and other women business owners and professionals online. Winners will receive their awards on November 27 at the Intercontinental Hotel Lagos.
